Since I am essentially a tree-hugger, I went for the "unbleached, oxygen cleaned, paper filter". It is probably no friendlier to the environment or cleaner than any other paper filter on the market, but it gives me a good tasting coffee and what-the-hey, I bought the program. It works and it fits the Chemex 8 Cup Coffee Maker, so I am happy. Not much more to be said for a coffee filter.
This also works well when not using the Chemex cups (i.e., when using a plain pitcher to make coffee).
These filters are designed to be used with a Chemex coffee kraft. I have been using them for over 30 years and they make excellent coffee. I tried to order them directly from Chemex and they were out of stock for over two months. The price on Amazon was better than a direct purchase from Chemex.
I have used a Chemex Coffee Maker since 1972. To my surprise I learned that they were available from Amazon. Only recently, I was unable to get the filters directly from Chemex because their manufacturer had stopped production of the unbleached filter paper. The supply was delayed numerous times. I placed the order and promptly received the filters. Now I can enjoy a great cup of coffee again.
Out here in coffee-land we like our coffee filters unrefined and effective. These Chemex filters are great, but we couldn't find any in Portland. nice that Amazon connected us.Now we're filtering, sipping, and drinking deep of the best brew in the Northwest.
